Assessment in District 100
VISION: We believe in using several measures to determine student success and to make informed decisions that lead to continuous student growth.
Teachers and administrators use assessments to monitor student progress, inform instructional decisions, evaluate program effectiveness, and measure progress on district and school improvement goals. Assessments should help to motivate students to want to do better, give students useful information that they can use to do better, inform teachers’ reteaching efforts, and inform families of student growth and achievement
Students in District 100 take a variety of assessments in order to give teachers the information they need to make instructional decisions to best support each learner. These assessments include
- State-required assessments (KIDS, IAR, ACCESS, ISA, DLM-AA, and FitnessGram).
- Benchmark assessments (NWEA MAP, FastBridge, and LAS Links).
- Classroom-based common assessments of the curriculum.
- Classroom formative assessments to inform instruction
