    Curriculum Curriculum Berwyn South School District 100 provides a comprehensive educational program that focuses on college and career readiness while encouraging students to be active learners. The district’s English language arts and math curriculum align with the Illinois Learning Standards, which are based on the Common Core State Standards. District 100 recently created a scope and sequence that provides clear and consistent expectations of what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. Our science curriculum is based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the social science curriculum covers topics based on Illinois Learning Standards. The curriculum in all content areas and exploratory courses is designed to provide students with the knowledge necessary to master content standards while challenging them to reach their greatest academic potential.     1:1 Wireless Device Program 1:1 Wireless Device Program ​ Berwyn South School District 100 is committed to providing the top resources for our students, faculty, and staff. Integrating technology into the classroom is critical to helping students become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and help them develop creative and open mindsets. With the support of the district community, the teachers in District 100 have engaged in professional development opportunities to help provide students with immediate feedback and opportunities to engage in creative ways to express their understanding of grade-level standards. Our district provides resources to help support students thrive in flexible learning environments. Their learning environments consist of: Adopting a 1:1 iPad program for K-8 since 2012 Setting policies and procedures for selecting and loading appropriate subject driven/grade level apps onto devices. Providing interactive displays in classrooms.     Professional Development Professional Development in D100 Berwyn South School District 100 is committed to facilitating ongoing professional learning for its staff. As such, we adhere to the Learning Forward Standards for Professional Learning. These standards guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning activities in Berwyn South School District 100 as required by the Illinois State Board of Education. "Learning Forward's standards outline the essential elements of and conditions for professional learning that strengthens educator effectiveness and increases student learning. Widespread attention to the standards increases equity of access to high-quality education for every student, not just for those lucky enough to attend schools in more advantaged communities" ( ). Our standards for PD focus on: Learning Communities Leadership Resources Data Learning Designs Implementation Outcomes In addition to participation in professional development opportunities on Institute Days, at after-school workshops, and by attending conferences, Berwyn South School District 100 staff are actively engaging in asynchronous learning options via webinars, Twitter chats, the EdLeadersNetwork, etc. The intended outcome of all Berwyn South School District 100 professional development is to increase educators' practice in order to facilitate successful student learning.

    Community Flyers & Activities COVID-19 Resources We understand you may have concerns about how the virus may impact your family. Agencies continue to focus on prevention and stress the best way to prevent infection is to avoid exposure to the virus. ​ In addition to social distancing, the Illinois Department of Public Health recommends the following: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who are sick and contact your healthcare provider for a plan of care. Stay home when you are sick. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
