Districtwide

When is the official last day of school?

School will end on June 1, 2020.  This is subject to change 

What if I am not getting district, school or teacher emails?

Please make sure your email address is up to date in powerschool.

When does registration start?

Registration is now open for all incoming kindergarteners.  In early May, we will communicate to our families about open registration. All information on registration can be found here

Will meals be provided during the entire school closure period? 

Yes, BSD100 will continue to provide meals for our students.  Please continue to check the BSD website for information. 

What support are available through the school district?

BSD100 will continue to work collaboratively to support students with their academic, social/emotional, and career planning needs through a virtual environment.  If you need assistance please reach out to your building principal or building social worker. 

Will BSD100 offer summer school?

BSD100 will have more information on summer school in the coming weeks.

Will there be a Springfield trip

This event has been canceled by the company.  It is our intentions to take the students in the 2020 fall semester.

Will there be an 8th grade boat trip?

This event has been canceled by the company. 

Will there be a promotion ceremony for 8th grade students?

We acknowledge there are concerns regarding how this order could impact end-of-year activities and events including 8th grade promotion. We, of course, share these concerns with you, and will communicate with you as soon as we determine our course of action.

What is Zoom?

ZOOM combines video conferencing, online meetings, chat, and mobile collaboration and is used by teachers to connect with students in the remote learning environment. The app contributes to the implementation of remote instruction by having an additional video option available

Is Zoom safe for students?

BSD100 is providing Zoom securely through Clever. Clever Zoom integration remains the safest deployment of the Zoom platform. We continue to monitor and provide guidance to our teacher to ensure our student safety.

What is Google hangouts?

Google Hangouts is part of our G-Suite for Education platform and consists of Google Meet and Google Chat. Google Meet supports video conferencing while Google Chat supports text messaging between users.

 

COVID-19 Related

How do I talk to my children about COVID-19?

Talking about COVID-19 can be overwhelming to parents, so it can be even more challenging to share the right amount of information with kids. Here are a few resources to help you explain what’s happening.

Will you inform us if a BSD100 employee contracts COVID-19?

We will follow the guidance of our local health departments on informing families appropriately.   

How do I request fee waiver if I am having financial hardships due to COVID-19?

If your family is experiencing financial hardships we encourage you to complete the fee waiver and submit to forms@bsd100.org
