LaVergne Education Center Property
District 100 is considering the future of the LaVergne Education Center property at 3401 S. Gunderson Avenue. The building has served the community for generations, but it is larger than the District needs and requires substantial repairs. The site is also important to daily transportation operations, including bus service for more than 400 students during the school year. The District is evaluating three options: replace the existing building with a smaller transportation office and bus hub on the property, sell the property and relocate transportation operations, or retain and maintain the current building. In weighing these options, the District is considering costs, accessibility, bus safety, the availability of another suitable site, and ways to honor LaVergne’s history. Thanks to the community members who attended and provided feedback at our first evening meeting on September 22. We are hosting another meeting on October 9 at 10 a.m.
