3000 Ridgeland Development

An official Groundbreaking Ceremony for the District Education Center was held on April 10, 2025. The education center will serve as a new location for the district’s administrative offices, but the vision for this new development extends well beyond office spaces. It was designed as a welcoming place to introduce new families to D100, a space to reimagine professional learning opportunities for staff, expand parent engagement and learning, further engage our community, and create much-needed outdoor spaces for the FMS students and staff and the broader community to enjoy.

Update February 2026

Construction on the new Education Center continues to progress smoothly, and with each week, the vision for this remarkable space becomes increasingly real. From its striking architectural features to the expansive interior spaces now taking shape, the building is coming together beautifully.

While the Education Center will serve as the new home for our district administrative offices, its purpose reaches far beyond that. The space was intentionally designed to welcome new families to D100, elevate and reimagine professional learning for our staff, expand opportunities for parent engagement, and strengthen our connection to the broader community. It will also provide much-needed outdoor spaces for Freedom Middle School students, staff, and community members to enjoy.

What began as a vision on paper is now transforming into a vibrant hub for learning, collaboration, and community.

Ground Breaking Ceremony April 2025

July, 2024

Phase 1 of the 3000 Ridgeland Project is underway, and the parking structure adjacent to Freedom Middle School is scheduled for completion in August 2024. Below the parking lot is a water retention structure that will hold 500,000 gallons of water, improving water retention potential for the surrounding community. Phase 2 of the project includes planning for a District Education Center to meet the professional and community needs of District 100 staff, families, and residents. Outdoor learning spaces will also be included in Phase 2 of the project. The Board of Education approved F.H.Paschen as the construction manager to work in collaboration with ARCON Associates, Inc., and District 100 in planning, development, and construction.
