PBIS (Positive Behavior
Intervention Systems)
You might be
wondering, “What is PBIS?” Well, it stands for Positive Behavior Intervention
Systems . PBIS is helping teachers and students build a positive school
culture at Komensky which will promote an environment for increased academic
learning.
The students may
be rewarded with a purple ticket when any staff member in school sees positive
behavior. The more tickets a student receives, the more likely they will be
recognized in the weekly Friday raffle.

October’s
PBIS focus will be on our “Be Here/Be Ready” expectation. Regular
attendance at school is very important to the education of your
child/children. We will be talking with your child about the difference
between being very sick and just a little sick. Of course, your child
needs to stay home if they are very sick, and you are encouraged to take
them to the doctor. But, if they are feeling a little sick, or if they
oversleep, please bring them to school. We will also be emphasizing
good health practices, such as washing hands often and coughing or
sneezing into their elbow, etc. Please reinforce these healthy
practices at home. We will have additional information in future
newsletters. |
