| Attendance in band is directly related with success in band! The
only legitimate excuse for missing band is to have an excused absence for
that day. Freedom students can make-up lessons on Mondays if they have a conflict with their regular lesson time.
Lessons: Each student will be scheduled for one 30-45 minute small lesson group per week. Students will receive a copy of the lesson schedule, and it is their responsibility to remember their lesson time. Students must make-up work that they missed while they were at their lesson. For lesson schedules, click below: 5th Grade Full band: TBA 6thGrade Full band: This meets twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday, during the
final period of the school day, from 2:47-3:17. Jazz Band: See Mrs. Schneider if you are interested in playing styles of music such as rock, swing, funk and latin! Jazz Band Rehearsal Schedule Concert attendance is MANDATORY: A concert is a culmination of everything we have learned up until that point. We perform to celebrate the musical learning that has taken place and to share it with others. Excused absences result only from a family emergency, religious holiday, illness, or another situation approved by the principal. If you have a conflict with a concert, please let Mrs. Schneider know ASAP! Houby Day Parade (7/8) is on Sunday, October 3rd. Meet at Heritage MS by 10:45 a.m. Winter Concert (6/7/8) is on Thursday, April 29th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Freedom M.S. gym. Beginning Band Concert (5) is on Tuesday, February 1st, at 6:30 p.m. in the Freedom M.S. gym. Solo & Ensemble Contest (6/7/8) is on Saturday, February 19th. Spring Concert (5/6/7/8) is on Thursday, April 28th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Freedom M.S. gym. Music in the Parks (7/8) is on Saturday, April 30th. . Graduation (6/7/8) is on Wednesday, June 1st at Morton West High School!
